“You’ll Get Over It”

“You’ll Get Over It”  by MadaÍ Chakell

(Lyrics)

I know you’re sad and tired

But you’ll get over it

You’ll find another life to live

I swear that you’ll get over it

You’ll get over it (It, it)

You’ll get over (I know your sad and tired)

You’ll get over it (It,it)

You’ll get over (Tired,tired)

And I know

And I know

And I know

And I know

It’ll be alright

YEAH!

And I know

And I know

And I know

And I know

It’ll be alright

Please take your time with me

Cause I can hardly breathe

When the world falls on me

I get down on my knees

I look up and say please

Is there anyone that can help me

Is there anybody that can

You’ll get over it

You’ll get over it

Mmmm

It

Mmmm

You’ll get over it

You’ll get over it (Tired Tired)

There’s gonna be some things but you’ll get over it

You’ll get over it

There’s gonna be some things but you’ll get over it

You’ll get over it

“You’ll get over it”. Wow, such powerful words. That is something that I need to keep in mind. One day I was scrolling across Tik Tok and I heard this song playing. The type of song was not your typical trending song. It was very unique and different.  Listening to it, it sounded like rock music. Which is in fact what it was. However, MadaÍ Chakell vocals made the song more appealing, The beats and the vocals in her voice clashed so well. I am not into rock music. Except the songs in Camp Rock. Which adds to why I like the song so much. All the Camp Rock movies were one of my favorite shows. But this song, I have it on repeat everyday. It literally has me in a chokehold(Hyperbole). The song evokes hope and happiness. The song is implying that the singer went through a tough time but she knows she’ll get over it.

However she also sheds light on how the world can actually contribute to your hurt.  Therefore, she tries to let them know, to just take their time with her. However, we know the world can be very cruel.  Which leads her to ask for help. But then she realizes that even though she’s tired and sad, One day she’s going to get over it and everything will be okay. The key concept from this song is no matter what you’re going through. One day you’ll get over it. It’s going to hurt and the world may even cause you more pain. But always keep in mind that “You’ll get over it”. Which is why this song is the cure to all my problems.

I actually fell in love with this song. Every morning I play this song while I get ready for the day. I like to play motivational songs rather than play songs that remind me of what I’ve been through. It helps me because I am not dwelling on my past. I am singing and dwelling on getting over what I have been through. Every word she stated in this song was closely connected with me. In my life I am going through financial, social, family and self related problems.

Sadly, it gets overwhelming because it hurts so bad I just want to give up. The worst part is I have no army behind me. I am all alone. But when I listen to this song, it reminds me that pain is permanent and there is room for change and growth. But change takes time as well as growth. I have also realized how the world (social media) can help contribute to the pain. Therefore it reminds me to stay away from what’s causing the pain. Or if you want, you can face it, so that pain won’t affect you anymore. I am currently going through this feeling of not making it as well as feeling lonely.

One day in the summer, I started to feel like I was not making it because my life was not changing and it still isn’t. It’s been the same consistent thing for years. Its like my interest for my future life grows small (Oxymoron). Nothing exciting happens in my life and I don’t see any results from what I am doing. I am going to school and working but I still feel like I am not doing enough.  Additionally, as the years went by my friendships just went down the drain. It made me feel like I was the issue as to why my life feels like an empty box and there’s no one in my corner to be by my side.

Then, within that second, I stumbled upon this song. I literally play it everyday before I leave the house or when I am walking to work. It lets me know that despite whatever you are going through. It’s not going to last forever. One day I am going to see my results from everything I am doing. There are going to be some supportive friends in my corner as well as my family. Then that day, will be the day I realize that the problems I was facing, I am getting over them slowly but surely. I really thank MadaÍ Chakell for writing this song. We are in the same age group. I feel like that’s why it’s also relatable. It lets me know that I am honestly not alone. MadaÍ Chakell is a very inspiring and upcoming influencer. Within that moment I needed a little guidance. Her song came right within that moment. I will forever  have“You’ll get over it” in my playlist and on repeat. While I am singing and dancing all around the world as if I am actually in the song(Simile). However, while enjoying the music, I will  know that one day everything will get better
